Why sign the register

Help those who need a transplant.

The Organ Donor Register is a confidential list of those people who have volunteered to donate organs and tissue to others upon their death.

People sign the register to help others live or improve the quality of their lives after you have died.

If you sign the register, you should also let your intentions be known to your friends, family and other loved ones. Even if your name is on the register the hospital will check with your family or friends to confirm you had not changed your mind.

Aside from signing the register here. You can also register your intention to be an organ donor when you:

  • Register for a driving license
  • Register with a GP surgery
  • Apply for a European Health Insurance Card
  • Apply for a Boots Advantage Card
