Your transplant co-ordinator is there for you to answer any queries you may have whilst waiting. It?s important to let people know what's going on in your life. They can be a tremendous source of support and information. Taking these steps puts you in control.
Some hospitals run a ?buddy scheme? or similar with previous patients able to offer support and share experiences.
Try and keep as fit as possible and maintain a healthy diet and as much physical exercise as you can manage.
Writing a daily diary may help during this period.
It?s a difficult time for many as there is never a guarantee of timescales and if an organ will become available. Keep positive and don?t suffer in silence and reach out for the support within your transplant team who are there to support you every step of the way!
